ARABIC ( اَلْعَرَبِيَّةُ ) LANGUAGE CLASSES:
EarthDiverse now offers Introductory Arabic classes!
Our Introductory Arabic language classes begin with a focus on learning the Naskh (قلم النسخ) script and basic conversation and vocabulary. Subsequent Terms reinforce both reading and writing, and focus on grammar, conversation and vocabulary.
EarthDiverse currently offers the following Arabic language classes on a rotating basis:
- Arabic 101: Introductory Arabic (offered 2020 Term 3 for beginning students)
- Arabic 102: Introductory Arabic (offered 2020 Term 3 for continuing students)
- Arabic 103: Introductory Arabic
The first series of Introductory Arabic classes (101-103) will continue throughout 2020. Intermediate Arabic (201-204) will be offered during the 2021 year if there is sufficient interest.
Our Term 3 Introductory Arabic 101 class for beginners (Mondays 2:00-3:30pm beginning Monday 27 July 2020) is specifically designed for adults who do not know how to read, write or speak the Arabic language, and who are unfamiliar with the script.
Our Term 3 Introductory Arabic 102 for continuing students (Mondays 4:00-5:30pm beginning Monday 27 July 2020) is specifically designed for adults who have learned the Arabic script and will focus on grammar, reading, writing and conversation.
Term 3 courses begin on Monday 27 July 2020 and run for eight successive weeks, with the last class of the Term held on Monday 14 September 2020. Subsequent classes (Arabic 102 and 103) will be held in the same time slots for the rest of the year.
Introductory Arabic 101 classes begin with learning Naskh (قلم النسخ) script, writing and reading practice, and include basic introductory grammar and some conversation. Arabic 102-104 classes continue with reading and writing practice, and with introductory grammar, vocabulary, and conversation. Those who already understand and speak some Arabic, but who do not know how to read and write, may also chose to enroll in the Arabic 101 course.
